I made this peanut butter banana chocolate smoothie yesterday morning and this morning for two different reasons. Yesterday morning because my legs were sore from standing all day at work the day before and I needed protein, and this morning because I’m doing a long piece of writing and that is intimidating. Here’s breakfast, no added sugar, filled with pantry goodies, and great taste. And so now, to work.
– 6 dates
– 1 banana
– 1 heaping tbsp chunky peanut butter
– 1 tbsp cocoa powder
– generous pinch of flax seeds, ground almond, chia seeds
– 1.3 cup milk
Smoothie looks so great.

Thanks! They’re a natural sweetener so you don’t need to add any extra sugar or processed sweeteners.

We never add sugar to our smoothies. Just allow fruit to sweeten them just enough…but I think adding dates would give them that extra bit of sweetness that we sometimes crave. 🙂
