Peanut Butter Banana Date Smoothie & Banana Avocado Pineapple Smoothie


I have been been eating on the go a lot lately, and so the last four days or so smoothies have been my go to brunch food. They packed enough energy to last til dinner, which was great, Here’s two that worked well:

Peanut Butter Banana Date Smoothie 

This is a guy-friendly smoothie as there’s no green stuff. Just make sure you fully blend and it – aka the dates are fully mashed up so there aren’t ‘bits’. Also, it really helps to have larger straws. Smoothies are just that much better from a straw. Also, the more liquid (aka water) there is, the smoother your smoothie. I had problems with thick smoothies for awhile, but these have a more drink-like consistency.

(Makes 1)
– 1 frozen banana
– 6 dates
– 1 slice pineapple
– 1 cup lemon water (I cut up a few slices of lemon and dropped it in water, put it in the fridge overnight and left it to infuse)
– 2 heaping tsp smooth peanut butter
– splash of milk (optional)
– 1 tbsp honey (optional)

Banana Avocado Pineapple Smoothie

(Makes 1)
– 1/2 frozen banana
– 1/2 avocado
– 3 slices pineapple
– 6 dates
– 1 cup pineapple juice
– 1 cup lemon water
– splash of milk (optional)
